Apple’s Time in Daylight category tracks a simple lifestyle fact: how long you spent in daylight. Basky can participate carefully. Enable Save to Apple Health, and Basky may write relevant outdoor duration as Time in Daylight. That sentence is the whole integration.

Companion guide: Time in Daylight in Apple Health. Privacy framing: private sun app. Product loop: how Basky works.

What Basky writes

A duration. Minutes associated with bask sessions (and related daylight the product defines for that write). It is a time quantity you can chart in Health over weeks — not a diagnosis, not a nutrient, not a skin-type label.

That matches how Health likes lifestyle signals: timestamps and amounts, glanceable without medical cosplay.

What Basky never does with Health

  • Never reads Health data — not steps, heart, sleep, labs, cycle data, or other apps’ entries.
  • Never writes the vitamin D estimate. That figure stays inside Basky on purpose.
  • Never uses Health as a cloud identity or ad graph. Basky has no ads and no account.
  • Never requires Health for the safe sun timer, daylight streak, or Sunshine Circles.

If another app blurs “synced to Health” into “we know your body,” Basky refuses the blur.

Why write duration at all?

Some people already review daylight in Health beside movement and sleep. A write-only bridge keeps Basky’s habit visible in that wider picture without importing a medical narrative Basky does not own. Others will never touch the toggle — and that is a complete product experience too.

How this sits with the safe-sun math

Health duration is not a second timer with different rules. Your bask still respects Fitzpatrick type plus live UV (Open-Meteo when location is allowed), about 60% of a MED, clamp 5–90 minutes. Over-exposure still earns nothing in Basky. Writing a duration does not mean “more is better” inside Health charts — use protection and judgment the same way you would without sync.

MED references (J/m²): I 200, II 250, III 350, IV 450, V 600, VI 1000. Illustration only: UV 5 might suggest ~29 minutes for a mid type. Your window is personal; Health just stores time you opted to save.

Opt-in, easy opt-out

Off until you turn it on. iOS will show Basky’s Health permissions. Revoke anytime. Basky’s on-device history does not depend on Health remaining connected.

Local morning reminders, if you use them, are still device notifications — not a Health push channel.

Free core, same privacy

Health sync is not a Basky Forever exclusive. Forever is cosmetic skins — one-time, never a subscription. The write-only bridge lives in the free wellness core beside UV, timer, streak, and Circles.

Circles still do not share Health data. Members see a first name and sun-day signal only.

What this page is not saying

Basky is not a medical device. Time in Daylight is not clinical documentation. The vitamin D estimate is not a lab. Sunscreen, clothing, shade, and clinicians still matter. General wellness guidance, not medical advice — especially when a Health chart can look authoritative.

Duration as a humble metric

Time in Daylight is humble on purpose: minutes are minutes. They do not claim serum status. Basky likes humble metrics for Health bridges. Nutrient-shaped estimates stay in-app where the “friendly, capped, not a lab” disclaimer remains attached to the UI beside the vitamin D estimate.

Permissions and trust

iOS shows Health permissions clearly. Basky asks only for what the write requires. If a future iOS prompt looks broader than Time in Daylight, treat that as a reason to pause and verify — the product intent remains write-only duration, never a read of your wider Health graph.

How sessions become Health entries

When enabled, relevant completed outdoor time can flow as Time in Daylight. Exact mapping follows what the app defines as countable daylight for that write. Cloudy check-ins and bask sessions are habit tools first; Health is an optional mirror, not the source of truth for streaks or Circles.

Turning it off without losing Basky

Disable the Settings toggle. Revoke in iOS Health access if you want a belt-and-suspenders opt-out. Your streak, skin type, and local history remain in Basky. Forever status remains a StoreKit fact, not a Health fact. Location settings remain independent.

Accessibility of the idea

Some users never open Health. Some live there. Basky serves both. The optional bridge should feel like a courtesy, not a growth funnel that nags until you connect. No account is created when you enable Health. No ads appear because you mirrored duration.

Boundaries worth repeating

Sunscreen still matters. Windows still clamp to roughly five to ninety minutes at about 60% of a MED. Over-exposure still earns nothing. Circles still do not see Health. The vitamin D estimate still never exports. Privacy page: private sun app. Guide: time in daylight Apple Health. Product tour: how Basky works.

Who benefits most

People who already review lifestyle charts weekly and want outdoor minutes beside movement. People who want Basky’s habit without Health can ignore the toggle forever and lose nothing essential.
